INTRODUCTION
Being a media and information literate individual is crucial because nowadays we have technologies like television, computer cellphones, and other medium for information. We need to be literate individuals so that we can understand the information we get from them and also to know if the information they share is reliable.Information is important because it gives people knowledge on how to deal with many things.A media literate person can decode, evaluate, analyze and produce both print and electronic media.
BODY
We all know that nowadays people are into online,but how can we make sure that all information in online are reliable? With the infinite amount of information online, it can be difficult to determine what is true and if the information is accurate or not. Once you know the trick to identifying reliable information, you can quickly determine if what you’re reading is accurate or not.
Instead of spreading hate speech, disinformation,fake.Media and Information Literacy (MIL) is designed to combat these challenges.If we are a media and information literate person, it gives us the skills to interpret and understand the information well,we are able to make our own judgements and choices,we are able to express our own views creatively and effectively.And it also improves our critical thinking skills by asking questions and seeking answers finding information, evaluating sources and making decisions fostering successful learners.These is very important so that no one can be fooled and everyone will live everyday with a sense of security.
CONCLUSION
We all know that being a media and information literate individual empowers individuals to think critically engage responsibly in the digital world.By becoming media and information literate individual we are empowered to make the right choices.
